Broadway Improvement Projects

There are three transportation improvement projects currently taking place on Broadway.


The Broadway (Pine to Iris) Reconstruction Project is reconstructing b_way_s.gifthe badly deteriorated and rutted pavement into concrete. Public and private utility upgrades as well as some sidewalk, transit and landscaping improvements will also be completed.

Construction began in March 2009 and is expected to conclude in Summer of 2010.

 

 

 

 

The North Broadway Transportation Improvement Project installed N_Broadway_Bike_Lanes_After_1bike lanes on Broadway from Iris to Norwood avenues as well as made other transit stop and pedestrian improvements.

Work began in 2008 with the utility undergrounding portion of the project with construction of the transportation improvements to follow. This project was completed in July 2009.

TheBroadway (Euclid to 18th) Transportation Improvements Project includes a new bicycle/pedestrian underpass, bus improvements and other transportation enhancements that will:

 

  • Improve pedestrian accessibility
  • Improve transit operations and plan for future Bus Rapid Transit service
  • Reduce conflicts between through bikes (multi-use path), pedestrians, and transit users
  • Maintain or improve Broadway's capacity
  • Make safety improvements at the intersection of 18th Street and Broadway
