City Projects

Non-City projects requiring travel restrictions


2009 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. motorists can expect intermittent daytime lane closures and traffic delays where (work exists on the roadway or where equipment is staged); parking restrictions may also be in affect where marked.  Sewer rehabilitation will occur at the following locations and dates:

Monday, Feb 8

  • On Arapahoe from 38th east to the creek

Tuesday, Feb. 9

  • In the easement north of Benthaven Place, west of Lehigh Street

Wednesday, Feb 10

  • In the easement between Colorado Avenue and Bella Vista Lane
  • In the easement between Grandview Avenue and Marine Street, west of 9th Street

Thursday, Feb. 11

  • In the easement east of Knollwood Drive
  • In the easement between 21st and 22nd streets, north of Columbine

Friday, Feb. 12

  • In the easement between Alpine Avenue and North Street, east of 10th Street

Multi-use path concrete replacement work

Multi-use path concrete panel replacement work will be taking place in the following locations:

  • The Goose Creek mulit-use path, east of 28th Street at its connection to Bluff Street.
    • This work will require intermittent path closures;signed detours will be provided
  • Wonderland Creek multi-use path east of 28th Street between Kalmia Avenue and Palo Parkway.
    • This work will require that the path be closed; signed detours will be provided.

This work is expected to last approximately two weeks and will be rescheduled if weather is not favorable.

30th Street Transportation Improvements Project

  • Both directions of 30th Street, in and around its intersection with Pearl Street, will have intermittent lane closures;
  • Additionally, the outside northbound lane of 30th Street, just south and north of Pearl Street will be closed 24 hours a day.  The bicycle lane on 30th Street, just north of Pearl Street, will also be closed and bicyclists are asked to merge with vehicular traffic.
  • This work is necessary while Xcel contracted crews utility undergrounding work in preparation for the 30th Street Transportation Improvements Project

Valmont Road lane closures just west 28th (Utilities work)

  • Traffic will be shifted to the south side of Valmont between 26th and 28th Streets with one lane in each direction.

  • These closures are necessary to complete utility relocation work related to the Elmer's Twomile Creek Project.

Broadway (Pine to Iris) Reconstruction Project

Work tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 6
From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6,  Broadway between Cedar and Elder avenues and  Evergreen Avenue and Grape Street will be reduced to one lane of alternating, flagged traffic to complete utility work.

Broadway is reduced to one lane in each direction from Balsam to Hawthorn avenues Avenue 24 hours a day.  Left turns from northbound Broadway to Hawthorn Avenue and from southbound Broadway at the North Boulder Recreation Center will be maintained.  Other left turns from Broadway in this section will be prohibited where marked.  Parking restrictions on the side streets will be in effect where marked. Pedestrian detours will also be in place.

  • Cedar, Evergreen and Forest avenues west of Broadway are closed 24 hours a day
  • From 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Broadway between Hawthorn to Juniper avenues will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction.  One of the left turn lanes from westbound Iris to southbound Broadway also will be closed.

63rd Street and Butte Mill Road closures due to street reconstruction

  • 63rd Street and Butte Mill Road will be closed between the Stazio Drive access roads for road reconstruction and utility installation until mid April 2010;
  • Traffic will be detoured to Stazio Drive; and
  • Mulit-use paths will not be affected.
