City Projects

Non-City projects requiring travel restrictions


Intermittent delays on Betasso and Sugarloaf roads

  • Due to construction material deliveries, motorist can expect brief delays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Highway 119, and Betasso and Sugarloaf roads,
  • Completion of this project will increase both untreated and treated water supply reliability, as well as mitigate treated water problems. In addition, revenue from hydroelectric power generation and payments for capacity would increase.

Pedestrian Access Ramps Project

  • Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.,the general area surrounded by Arapahoe Avenue, Pearl Street, Foothill Parkway and 63rd Street will have intermittent lane closures, parking restrictions and pedestrian detours adjacent to the work.

Spruce and Folsom streets Intersection Improvements Project

  • There will be daytime lane closures and some occasional full-time closures on Spruce Street, west and east of Broadway, but driveway access will remain open at all times.

  • There will also be parking impacts adjacent to the four corners of this intersection as well as temporary sidewalk and vehicular closures and detours.

Goose Creek multi-use path closure

  • The Goose Creek multi-use path, just east of the Folsom Street underpass, will be closed for repairs.

  • A detour will be in place to direct cyclists and pedestrians around the work area. This work is scheduled to be complete by Friday, Nov.13.

Valmont Road lane closures just west 28th (Utilities work)

  • Traffic will be shifted to the south side of Valmont between 26th and 28th Streets with one lane in each direction.

  • These closures are necessary to complete utility relocation work related to the Elmer's Twomile Creek Project.

28th Street and Valmont Road area closures (Transportation Work)

  • The northbound outside lane of 28th Street from Bluff Street to Valmont Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.;

  • There will also be intermittent daytime closures of the outside southbound lane of 28th Street just north of Valmont Road;

  • Monday through Friday;

  • Pedestrian detours will be in place;

  • There will be some occasional transit stop closures;

  • This work will continue for the next few weeks.

Broadway (Pine to Iris) Reconstruction Project

For the weekend of Nov. 6 and 7

On Friday, Nov. 6 from 7 p.m to 7 a.m., one lane of southbound Broadway between North Street and Portland Place will be closed.

The week of Nov. 9
Broadway is reduced to one lane in each direction from North Street to Evergreen Avenue 24 hours a day. Left turns from Broadway in this section will be prohibited where marked. Parking restrictions on the side streets will be in effect. Pedestrian detours will also be in place.

  • On Tues., Nov. 10 from 7pm to 7am, Broadway between Elder and Cedar avenues will be reduced to one lane of alternating, flagged traffic to complete utility related work.  The backup night for this work will be Wed., Nov. 11.

  • The Southbound RTD Transit Stop south of Balsam will be closed for several weeks.  Transit Stop access will be re-directed to the Southbound Transit Stop north at North Street.

  • Cedar, west of Broadway, is closed 24 hours a day.

  • Dellwood, west of Broadway, will be closed 24 hours a day for gas line replacement work.  This closure is expected to last several weeks.

  • Pedestrian detours will be in place throughout the week at the intersections of Broadway and Alpine Avenue and Broadway and Balsam Avenue.

Xcel Energy project to close lanes on Colorado Avenue

  • 63rd Street between Arapahoe Avenue and Stazio Drive will have intermittent daytime lane closures while crews' case bore under the railroad tracks in front of the Xcel plant.Intermittent closures of the right lane (including the bike lane where applicable) on Arapahoe Avenue between Foothills Parkway and 63rd Street.

  • Xcel Energy gas main work to close lanes and on-street bike lanes on Pine Street
    • Beginning Monday, Oct. 26, an Xcel Energy gas main replacement project will require the intermittent closure of both vehicle and on-street bike lanes on Pine Street between 21st and 23rd streets.
