KC Becker was elected to the City Council of Boulder, Colorado in November, 2009 for a four-year term. She serves as Boulder’s representative to the Denver Region Council of Governments and on the city’s Board of Urban Renewal. 

Prior to serving on City Council, KC served on the City's Planning Board. She received a Masters of Science in Real Estate Development from the University of Denver in 2005.  Prior to that, she worked for several years in Washington D.C. as an attorney for the U.S. Department of the Interior, focusing on environmental and natural resources law. She earned her law degree from Lewis and Clark Law School, Portland, Oregon in 1996 where she was on Law Review, was a member of the Cornelius Honor Society, and was President of the Public Interest Law Project. She has published law review articles on the laws allowing private citizens to bring environmental lawsuits agains the government and on the role of science in government decision-making. 

KC has a particular interest in promoting green communities through planning and transportation, in affordable housing issues, and in bringing parks and other public amenities to neighborhoods and parts of our communities who need them most.

KC lives in Boulder with her husband Miles, and her two young sons.
