Capital Investment Strategy

Round 1

Round 1 of the Capital Investment Strategy took place in 2011. A community stakeholder committee was appointed by the city manager to make a recommendation to City Council on a bond package for the 2011 ballot. The Round 1 bond package:

  • does not raise taxes; and
  • funds a balance of significant deficiencies to address maintenance and renovation of existing facilities as well as high priority facility enhancements.

The committee sent a recommendation to City Council to consider at its July 19, Aug. 2, and Aug. 16, 2011 meetings. The council unanimously approved the submitting to proposed bond package for the 2011 ballot on August 16. The August 16 memo to council includes the approved ordinance language.
