The Historic Union Pacific Depot Move

The Historic Union Pacific Depot, built in 1890, was moved at the beginning of October 2008. Many people were responsible for the successful move and final placement, including Glenn Magee, FAM's Facilities Design and Construction Manager, structural engineer Henry Lopez and architect Margaret Hansen.  Rocky Mountain Structural Movers of Parker, Co. sucessfully lifted and transported the 400 ton building from the Crossroad Commons shoipping center, to the new Transit Village site on the northeast corner of 30th and Pearl streets.

Here are some photos from the move:

FAM helped coordinate the installation of photovoltaic panels on the Park Central and Municipal buildings in October and November of 2008. The panels will generate approximately 30,000 KWh of electricity annually and were installed by Lighthouse Solar (Park Central) and Simple Solar (Municipal). Both systems were donated by an anonymous donor through the Center for Resource Conservation.
