What the Liaison Does?

The University Liaison is responsible for providing information about the city and university to the public; developing outreach programs and educational tools for University of Colorado students who live off campus; providing public relations direction to city/CU staff and CU student government; building the relationship between CU and the city; and acting as liaison among CU, the city and the community regarding student-related issues.

Town/Gown Relationship
The city and CU are both committed to maintaining a positive working relationship. To this end, representatives from both organizations meet several times a year to analyze issues affecting the community and to update and develop efforts to address student behavioral impacts on Boulder. In particular, the city, University and student government representatives are working on strategies to promote safety and civic responsibility among college-aged students. These include targeted communication messages to students and parents, special events, education programs, alternative and/or stricter penalties for quality of life violations and consistent enforcement activities for code compliance.
