North Teller Farm
Click the map for a larger PDF map (1.38 MB) LOCATION On the south side of Valmont between 75th and 95th Streets, about two miles east of 75th. Please check for temporary or seasonal closures or advisories. PARKING Parking lot off Valmont on the south side. TRAILS East Boulder Trail is sport chair accessible and meanders to the north past Teller Lake and through farmland utilized for crop production, cattle and horse grazing and bee keeping on its way to the South Teller Trailhead. The trail also extends west along Valmont Road for approximately 1/4 mile where it turns north, crossing Valmont Road, and enters the White Rocks Nature Preserve (**Please note that all visitors must stay on trail in the White Rocks Nature Preserve as the property is private land for which Boulder holds a conservation easement.) This trail is sport chair accessible from Valmont Road northward to Boulder Creek. This trail may be taken to the White Rocks Trailhead on 95th Street or to the Gunbarrel Farm Trailhead at the intersection of Boulderado and Cambridge Streets in the Heatherwood neighborhood. ACCESSIBILITY This area is identified as being popular with people using wheelchairs. See the RESTROOMS Located at the trailhead.
PICNIC FACILITIES Picnic tables at the trailhead and parking area. Grills and stoves are prohibited. BIKE REGULATIONS Bicycles are allowed throughout the length of the East Boulder Trail. A bicycle rack is available at both the north and south trailheads of Teller Farm. Bicycles may be ridden only on those trails that are posted with the international bicycle symbol. DOG REGULATIONS Dogs are not allowed at Teller No. 5, must be leashed within 100 yards of the water at Teller Lake South. Dogs are not permitted north of Valmont Road in the White Rocks Nature Preserve. All dogs must be leashed in the Trailhead Leash Area. Beyond the trailhead, dogs must be on a hand-held leash at all times unless they meet the voice and sight control standard and display a City of Boulder Voice and Sight tag. Dog excrement removal is required by law. HORSE REGULATIONS Allowed on all trails. Off-trail riding is discouraged to protect rare plants and wildlife habitat. WILDLIFE There is a variety of waterfowl and fish at Teller Lake. Grass carp were introduced into the lake to control the growth of pond vegetation. State fishing regulations apply. All smallmouth and largemouth bass in possession must be 15 inches in length or longer. Raptors, coyote, fox and deer may also be observed in this area. HISTORIC INFO
