Impounded or towed vehicle

This information is about vehicles that have been moved in city limits only. Check to see if your vehicle has just been moved around the corner for street sweeping, for example.

If you have outstanding parking tickets.....

If your vehicle was impounded due to outstanding parking tickets, you must first take your Immobilization Notice from your vehicle and take it to the Violations Bureau at the Justice Center, 1777 6th (6th and Canyon) between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday (except for legal holidays), 303-441-4212.

Payments are cash only.
Payments for parking tickets will not be taken at the Police Department.

 

Procedure for a vehicle that has been impounded and towed:

Take care of unpaid fines and get a vehicle release at the Municipal Court's front desk during their business hours, or the Police Department counter in the Public Safety Building, when Municipal Court is closed.

Bring identification and know the make, model, color, and year of the impounded vehicle.

Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Closed second Friday each month, 8 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Public  Safety Building, 1805 33rd St:
Every Day, 7 a.m.  - 7 p.m.   
Before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m.,  call dispatch at 303-441-3333 for city impound, or 303-441-4444, for cars located in the county.
