
Neighborhood Parking Program Commuter Permits
CITY OF BOULDER PUBLIC PARKING PERMIT CONDITIONS
- The quarterly Commuter Permit fee is $78.00
- Permits must be renewed each quarter by the following deadlines:
- First Quarter (January - March) - renew by Dec. 31 of previous year
- Second Quarter (April - June) - renew by March 31
- Third Quarter (July - September) - renew by June 30
- Fourth Quarter (October - December) - renew by Sept. 30
Invoices will be mailed to the address listed on the application at the beginning of the expiration month as a reminder however, it is the responsibility of the applicant to renew on time.
Permits that are not renewed by the stated deadline will become available to the public at the beginning of the next quarter. Renewal payments for permits may be made through the mail or in person. Mail renewals should be sent by the 15th day of the renewal month. To expedite the permit renewal process, please bring or remit the perforated renewal stub from your current permit.
- Methods of payment include cash, check, money orders or Visa/MasterCard. Money orders and cash are accepted only in person with proper identification. Checks are the preferred method of payment.
- A $10 fee will be charged to replace any lost, misplaced, damaged or stolen commuter permit.
- Permit space(s) will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Permits can only be used in the assigned location. Permit parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Leasing a permit does not guarantee you a space in the block you are assigned to.
- Permits are non-transferable. The permits are the property of the Central Area General Improvement District (CAGID) or the University Hill General Improvement District (UHGID) and must be returned if revoked. Permits cannot be resold. The permit may be used by the applicant in up to three different vehicles driven by the applicant as long as the vehicle license plate is recorded with Parking Services. Vehicle license plate number(s) must be provided in order to obtain a permit. Anyone suspected of permit transferring will be required to furnish car registration for vehicles owned and used by permittee.
- Please check yes or no on the application, where indicated, if you have a state issued handicapped license plate or placard.
- The commuter hangtag permit is required to be hung from the rear view mirror with the block face number facing out at all times the vehicle is in the Neighborhood Permit Parking zone for which it was assigned. For safety and visibility purposes, please remove permit while driving.
- Individuals and vehicles not following these conditions will be subject to ticketing and/or towing (at owners expense) or revocation of permit. Any person who knowingly allows their permit to be used in violation of these conditions shall have such permit revoked and shall be ineligible for a permit for any vehicle for a period of one year.
- Parking Services reserves the right to revoke any permit issued for nonpayment or returned checks.
- Cars are parked in permitted locations at the owner's risk. Articles left in car are at owner's risk. The City of Boulder is not liable for damages caused by vandalism, theft, driver's negligence or acts of God, and is not liable for personal safety.
- Pursuant to Chapter 4-23-2 (a) of the Boulder Revised Code, 1981, commuter permits issued for use in neighborhood Permit Parking Zones may not be available after Dec. 31, 2012. Any commuter permits issued prior to that date will automatically expire on Dec. 31, 2012 unless re-authorized for use by the Boulder City Council on or before that date.
