April 03, 1997 - Ramsey Update #36FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: City Web site: www.bouldercolorado.gov Ramsey Briefing for April 3, 1997 The following updates were presented at the weekly City of Boulder briefing on the Ramsey investigation: Cellmark Update The District Attorney has sent formal authorization to Cellmark Diagnostics to proceed with the testing of material sent on March 4. This authorization was sent once the Ramsey family declined to have someone present at the testing. Testing at Cellmark has begun and normally this testing takes a minimum of 6 weeks to complete. Colorado Bureau of Investigation Update The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is still conducting tests on material collected by Boulder Police during this investigation. The CBI has been given substantial samples to analyze and that work continues. Status of the Investigation Boulder Police and the DA's Office will be reviewing thousands of pages of material that has been gathered during this case. Boulder Police continue to follow up on leads, conduct interviews. and await test results from CBI and Cellmark. Boulder Police. The DA's Office and Police will consult with other professionals as needed and they remain focused on the investigation into the death of JonBenet Ramsey.
