City Calculates Costs for Ramsey Investigation

City Manager Tim Honey today received an update on expenditures related to the Ramsey investigation. The police department has incurred expenses relating to overtime, travel and related investigative expenses.

1996 expenditures related to Ramsey case:

The total expenditures for 1996 and for 1997,
through January 26, 1997,
are:   $ 77,964.38.

City Manager Tim Honey adds, "These figures need to be viewed within the overall context of the total Police Department budget of $14 million for 1997. The City's 1997 general fund budget for is $68 million. At this point in time, these expenditures do not necessitate any adjustment to our budget. These budgetary issues, as well as any other City budgetary issues, will be evaluated throughout the course of the year."
