Qualifications:
Security: Volunteers are not necessarily refused based on prior involvement with the justice system. However, you may not have a current case. Training Provided: A 40-hour training course will include crisis intervention skills, victimology, legal procedures, law enforcement and resource information; and an opportunity to ride-along with a police officer during a shift. Time Commitment: Must commit one year to the advocate program. Be available for short-term follow-up with victims. Attend monthly support meetings and continuing education meetings.
