Tracy Winfree

Tracy WinfreeTracy Winfree has served as Director of Public Works for Transportation for the City of Boulder since 2001. With an approximate $23 million budget, the city's Transportation Division is responsible for Boulder's award-winning multimodal transportation system. Before becoming director, Winfree worked in the Transportation Division's GO Boulder office, which serves as the city's incubator and implementer for new programs and projects that encourage people to use alternative transportation. Ms. Winfree has contributed to such programs as the Eco Pass and CU Student Pass and the HOP, SKIP and JUMP shuttle services. As director, Winfree has provided leadership in the implementation and maintenance of a sustainable local transportation system, focusing on development of a Complete Streets grid. She also plays a key role in supporting regional transportation solutions and has served on the 36 Commuting Solutions Board since 2005. She was recently appointed by the Governor to the Regional Air Quality Council board. Ms. Winfree received her bachelor's degree in Architecture with honors from Princeton University.
