Park and Shelter Rentals

     2013 Shelter Rental Season:        May 3to Sept. 8  

Deadlines for reservations: Make your reservation at least 7 business days (one week) before the date of your event. Submit your alcohol permit request (must be a City of Boulder resident) at least 15 calendar days before the date of your event.

Park Use off season(Oct to April) - first come/first serve for 50 people or less, prohibited: Glass containers, Alcohol, private grills.
For a picnic summer of 2014?   You can make reservations nine months in advance.    2014 season is May 2 to Sept. 7. 
 

Bringing your own grill to a park--> to bring a grill to any city park you must have a permit from our office. It requires a two week notice for the permit to be approved and a $100 deposit.   No private  charcoal grills are allowed.  Special rules apply for private gas grills.

  • Shelter B has tables for about 50 people

    (Birthday party shelter for children - No alcohol allowed.)

  • In-line hockey rinks, sports fields
  • Electrical outlets available for an additional $10 fee

Large Group Permits for Private Events

You may obtain a permit for any city park year round. Popular parks for private events such as weddings, birthday and graduation parties, family reunions, etc., include the Chautauqua Lawn, Harlow Platts Park, East Boulder Community Park, and Scott Carpenter Park.  During the Off Season:  Parks with general public use shelters and restrooms (with limited open hours) are:  Eben G Fine Park, Foothills Community Park, Tom Watson Park.

 Groups with 50 or more people at any park must obtain a permit prior to gathering. Code 8-3-14. Group permits for private events will not reserve a specific area at the park. Parks will remain open to general park visitors.  A $100 to $200 deposit is due for this group permit.  To request a large group permit call 303 413-7200. 900 Baseline Rd. - 100 people maximum

Chautauqua Park note: Large group permits on the lawn must conclude by 5:00 PM under an agreement with the Chautauqua Association.  Group permits for private events will not reserve a specific area on the lawn and will remain open to general park visitors.  A $100 to $200 deposit is due for this group permit.  No fee is assessed as this open grass area provides no tables, chairs or shelter.
