The City of Boulder's Office of Environmental Affairs (OEA) is hosting an informational meeting for contractors and dealers working in commercial lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and variable speed drives.  The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, at the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, 2440 Pearl St. Presenters include energy services professionals from Nexant and Xcel Energy.  This will be an opportunity for contractors to learn about how to participate in the City of Boulder's Building Performance Program (BPP).

As part of the city's Climate Action Plan which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Boulder, OEA has implemented a number of programs for businesses and residents to increase energy efficiency.  The BPP is one such program; its services include technical energy audits and retrofit assistance for commercial buildings.  The program will establish a network of participating contractors to implement the retrofit projects which are identified through the energy audits.

Participating contractors will be listed as referrals in the resulting audit reports and on the OEA Web site. Establishing a contractor network for energy efficiency improvements is a critical element of the BPP program. Assistance is also available for identifying and submitting qualified rebates through Xcel Energy's incentive programs.
