Free weatherization services offered to City of Boulder residents through the city's Climate Action Plan (CAP) campaign, have been extended to households with incomes ranging from $47,731 to $79,291 (see income table below). An application can be found at www.co.boulder.co.us/cs/ho/weatherization/apps/CityBldrEnergyefficiencyApp.pdf.

The weatherization program is expected to fund energy efficiency improvements in approximately 20 Boulder homes, and participation in the program is first-come, first-served to eligible city residents. Weatherization services may include furnace repairs or replacements, added insulation or storm windows, refrigerator replacement, and repairs to drafty areas in the home. Through weatherization, a household can experience an average reduction in energy usage and energy bills of 13-20 percent.

In addition to reduced energy costs for residents, weatherization helps people stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. This program is available to income-qualified renters and owners of most dwelling types.
