Solar Rebate and Grant Programs

City Council approved the solar rebate ordinance in November 2006. This ordinance created a renewable energy fund, where 35 percent of the fund is dedicated to rebates on sales tax on solar systems installed in the City of Boulder and 65 percent of the fund is dedicated for the purpose of providing financial assistance through grants toward installation of photovoltaic (PV) or solar thermal systems on homes in the city's affordable housing program, on housing for low to moderate income persons owned or developed by non-profit organizations, and on the facilities of site based non-profit entities operating in Boulder.
