Dakota Ridge Park is open! The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) approved Dakota Ridge Park as the official park name. Background information The department finalized a Preferred Concept Plan for a new park at Dakota Ridge in January 2008. Designs were based upon community input gathered at public meetings in October and November 2007. Three plans were developed and displayed on the department's Website. A Preferred Concept Plan evolved from input gathered from the Web and the second public meeting. The final park design calls for shade shelters, benches, trees, shrubs, native grass areas, open turf play areas, concrete walks, play bay with swings, climbing structures, a small scooter course, climbing rock and quiet areas with benches. The Preferred Concept plan for the park is available for viewing by clicking on the links below: Creation of a park in the Dakota Ridge area is a goal of Boulder Parks and Recreation's current Master Plan, adopted in December 2006.
