A new partnership between OEA and Xcel Energy will support an unlimited number of commercial program participants, and the program is on track to serve four times as many businesses in 2008 than it did in 2007.

ClimateSmart at Work programs are intended to assist Boulder businesses reduce carbon dioxide emissions in their operations, hedge against rising energy costs, and support the city's Climate Action Plan goals.   The most common retrofit recommendations involve lighting and lighting controls, and heating/cooling (HVAC) systems.  If all recommended improvements are made, these businesses would collectively save (on an annual basis) $90,461 in energy costs, 745,308 kilowatt hours of electricity, and 48,330 therms of natural gas.
