Broadway (Pine-Iris) Reconstruction Project staging area at North Boulder Park

Impacts: Potential noise from equipment movement; access restrictions to 100'x100' area of park west of 9th Street at Balsam Avenue; temporary damage to staging area turf (with complete restoration at completion of project).

Dates: March 2009 - Summer 2010 (depending upon project needs/completion)

The Broadway Reconstruction Project will reconstruct Broadway from Pine Street to Iris Avenue into concrete pavement, upgrade the private and public utilities and complete some sidewalk, transit stop and streetscape enhancements.

Use Details:

• The staging area at North Boulder Park will provide storage of construction equipment and materials for this major local, state, and federally-funded transportation improvement project.
• All other areas of North Boulder Park will remain open for customary park activities, special events and Nordic skiing (conditions permitting), unless otherwise posted.
• The city's contractor evaluated other potential private and public properties for this critical need, however no other sites were deemed viable given site requirements and duration of project.
• Park staff will work closely with construction contractor to minimize impacts to park users - as well as ensuring complete park restoration upon conclusion of project.
