Paul Fetherston

Paul Fetherston has been the Deputy City Manager since May 2008.

Before joining the City of Boulder, Fetherston was the chief administrative officer at the town of Canton, Conn. Previously, he worked as the town manager in Newington, Conn., the assistant to the first selectman in Simsbury, Conn., and assistant corporation counsel and assistant to the mayor in East Hartford, Conn. He also served as a governor's appointee on the state of Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POST). 

Fetherston has a law degree from Western New England College School of Law and a bachelor's degree in political science from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.

Currently, he works closely with the Police and Fire Departments, Communications Division and Human Resources and coordinates the work of the city's operational departments -Community Planning & Sustainability, Housing & Human Services, Library & Arts, Municipal Court, Open Space & Mountain Parks, Parks & Recreation, Public Works and the University Liaison. Previously, Fetherston oversaw the work of the city's administrative departments - City Manager's Office, City Clerk, Information Technology, Downtown and University Hill Management District/Parking Services, Finance and Internal Audit.
