City Projects

Non-City projects requiring travel restrictions


Intermittent delays on Betasso and Sugarloaf roads

  • Due to construction material deliveries, motorist can expect brief delays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Highway 119, and Betasso and Sugarloaf roads,
  • Completion of this project will increase both untreated and treated water supply reliability, as well as mitigate treated water problems. In addition, revenue from hydroelectric power generation and payments for capacity would increase.

Valmont Road lane closures just west 28th (Utilities work)

  • Traffic will be shifted to the south side of Valmont between 26th and 28th Streets with one lane in each direction.

  • These closures are necessary to complete utility relocation work related to the Elmer's Twomile Creek Project.

28th Street and Valmont Road area closures (Transportation Work)

  • The northbound outside lane of 28th Street from Bluff Street to Valmont Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.;

  • There will also be intermittent daytime closures of the outside southbound lane of 28th Street just north of Valmont Road;

  • Monday through Friday;Pedestrian detours will be in place;

  • There will be some occasional transit stop closures;

  • This work will continue for the next few weeks.

Broadway (Pine to Iris) Reconstruction Project

For Broadway-specific traffic updates, sign up for the 'Public Works Broadway News' e-mail list. Choose this mailing list from the drop-down list and follow the on-screen prompts.

Broadway is reduced to one lane in each direction from North Street to Evergreen Avenue 24 hours a day. Left turns from Broadway in this section will be prohibited where marked. Parking restrictions on the side streets will be in effect. Pedestrian detours will also be in place.  The Southbound RTD Transit Stop south of Balsam will be closed for several weeks.  Transit Stop access will be re-directed to the Southbound Transit Stop north at North Street

Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 25, all lanes on Broadway from North Street to Balsam Avenue will reopen as well as the southbound RTD Transit stop south at Balsam Avenue.

Following the reopening of this section, Broadway from Balsam to Evergreen avenues will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction 24 hours a day. Left turns from Broadway in this section will be prohibited where marked. Parking restrictions on the side streets will be in effect. Pedestrian detours will also be in place.

  • Beginning at 7 a.m. Tues., Nov. 24 through 7 a.m. on Wed., Nov. 25, there will be restricted access to the alley between Balsam & Cedar avenues.  Access will be open at Cedar for all residents.

  • Cedar and Dellwood avenues west of Broadway will be closed 24 hours a day.

Xcel Energy project to close lanes on Colorado Avenue

  • 63rd Street between Arapahoe Avenue and Stazio Drive will have intermittent daytime lane closures while crews' case bore under the railroad tracks in front of the Xcel plant.Intermittent closures of the right lane (including the bike lane where applicable) on Arapahoe Avenue between Foothills Parkway and 63rd Street.

  • Xcel Energy gas main work to close lanes and on-street bike lanes on Pine Street
    • An Xcel Energy gas main replacement project will require the intermittent closure of both vehicle and on-street bike lanes on Pine Street between 21st and 23rd streets. This work is expected to last six to eight weeks. For more information, contact Greg Sorter, Xcel Energy, at 303-245-2279.
