Residents in Boulder County are currently eligible for free phone advising or discounted, $90 Home Energy Assessments (regularly $120).

General Residential Rebates and Neighborhood Grants

Neighborhood Climate Action Group Grant Program
Is your neighborhood group looking for funding? The City of Boulder offers up to $400 per year to support your existing group or facilitate the formation of a new group. Funding can be put towards items such as flyer printing, web hosting and event support. Want to know more? Energy Efficiency Rebates

  • The Governor's Energy Office (GEO) and the City of Boulder are partnering to offer rebates on insulation and air sealing, efficient furnaces, duct sealing, and energy audits. Additional rebates are also available through Recharge Colorado. Visit Recharge Colorado or call 800-462-0184 before funding runs out.
  • Xcel Energy customers can receive cash rebates for evaporative cooling equipment, heating systems, water heating, insulation and more.

Renewable Energy Rebates and Incentives

Federal Tax Credits

  • Energy Efficiency Federal tax credits are available for energy efficiency improvements in 2012. Residents who install geothermal heat pumps, fuel cells, solar wind turbines, microturbine systems, and/or solar energy systems can receive up to a 30 percent tax credit.
  • Renewable Energy Federal tax credits are available for solar electric systems and solar thermal systems, and up to 30 percent of the cost of the system can be taken in a tax credit. 

State Incentives
Colorado residents who make energy efficiency and/or renewable energy improvements are also eligible for state financial incentives.

Free Income-Qualified Weatherization
Boulder County's Longs Peak Energy Conservation provides weatherization services for City residents to address high energy costs. These free programs for qualified residents work with you to improve the energy efficiency of your home in order to both save you money through lower energy use and also to make your home more comfortable. Water Rebates
The City of Boulder offers residents rebates for qualifying new washing machines, low-flow toilets and irrigation systems. For more information, visit www.bouldersaveswater.net

ClimateSmart Loan Program
The residential portion of the ClimateSmart Loan Program has been put on hold pending further evaluation by the (Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (government-sponsored mortgage-finance corporations).
