Detectives arrest fifth suspect in marijuana dispensary robbery

Detectives have arrested the fifth and final suspect in connection with the June 16, 2009, robbery of the New Options Wellness Center medical marijuana dispensary in the 2800 block of East Aurora Avenue. The suspect, Kevin Scott Beauford, 42, was taken into custody on Friday, Nov. 13, at his home in Lafayette.

Beauford had been a customer at New Options previously. He is accused of helping to plan the robbery and giving the other suspects forged paperwork to help them gain access to the business. According to the evidence gathered by detectives, Beauford was outside the store in a separate vehicle when the robbery occurred, but he was able to flee the area. Investigators have determined that Beauford had his three children in the vehicle with him when the crime was committed.

Beauford was booked into the Boulder County Jail on charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft, forgery and three counts of child abuse. His bail was set at $50,000.

Police do not anticipate any additional arrests in this case.
