Applications available for youth-adult art show
High school students on the City of Boulder's Youth Opportunities Advisory Board (YOAB) are organizing the fifth annual juried youth-adult art exhibit. Applications are being accepted through Dec. 4, 2009. Youth artists must be high school age and must live in or attend school in the City of Boulder. Adult artists must live or work in the City of Boulder. "Voices V: Perspectives of the Artistic Soul" will take place Jan. 8-15 at Rembrandt Yard, 1301 Spruce St., in Boulder. The application is available online at www.yoab.org. YOAB is part of the Youth Opportunities Program in the city’s Department of Housing and Human Services. "Dance is for Every Body! Showcase" this weekend
The annual "Dance is for Every Body!" showcase will be held this weekend at the Main Boulder Public Library, 1001 Arapahoe Ave. “Dance is for Every Body!” is two days of continuous dance presentations -- all FREE and open to the public. One part entertainment, one part education, the showcase is a great outreach project as Front Range area dancers, studios, companies and teachers present five to 15-minute performances, works-in-progress, mini-classes with audience participation, lecture demonstrations or short dance films. The showcase runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, in the Canyon Theater.

Boulder Library receives 4-Star Library rating for second time
Boulder Public Library has been named a four-star public library by Library Journal, one of the nation’s premiere professional publications, for the second time. Boulder Public Library is one of eight public libraries in Colorado to receive a star rating. Out of public libraries with a budget range between $5-9.9 million annually, Boulder Public Library was named one of 11 libraries to receive a four-star rating.

Opus Two at Main Library Nov. 29
Opus Two, the award-winning and internationally recognized duo comprised of violinist William Terwilliger and pianist Andrew Cooperstock, performs a free show at the Main Boulder Public Library at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29.
