Meet the commander

The Detective Section is comprised of three sergeants and 20 detectives who investigate major crimes, robberies, assaults, family crimes, financial crimes, computer crimes, and general crimes.  The section oversees the department's crime analysis unit and the intelligence unit.

In addition, the Detective Section houses a plainclothes unit known as the Target Crime Team (TCT).  This group focuses its attention on identifying and apprehending pattern crime criminals.

Finally, an off-shoot of the Detective Section is the narcotics unit.  These officers are assigned to the multi-agency Boulder County Drug Task Force and work crimes related to illegal drugs.

Detectives work closely with the department's crime analysts and criminalists.
