Detective Commander

KimforwebCmdr. Kimberly Stewart is an Oklahoma native.  She received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. After college, Cmdr. Stewart accepted a commission in the U.S. Army where she served for five years.  She resigned as a captain and joined the Boulder Police Department in 1990.

As a patrol officer, Cmdr. Stewart worked all three watches.  During that time, she also performed as a crime scene investigator (CSI), an alcohol enforcement officer, and a field training officer (FTO).  Cmdr. Stewart was selected as a detective in 1995 and worked both property and persons cases. Cmdr. Stewart was promoted to sergeant in 1997 where her favorite assignment was the University Hill supervisor role.  In 2003, Stewart attained the rank of commander.  She currently serves as the detective commander.  Cmdr. Stewart is a graduate of 220th Session of the FBI National Academy.
