Feb. 4, 2010 - City program challenges local businesses to save energy and reduce carbon emissions
In its first year (2008-2009), the City of Boulder “10 for Change” program helped local member businesses achieve a collective:
“10 for Change” is a voluntary program that challenges Boulder businesses to reduce their annual energy use by 10 percent. At the first awards ceremony held on Jan. 14, 2010, the city presented awards to businesses that achieved the most significant energy reductions. Awards were given in two categories: overall energy use reduction and overall percentage of energy use reduction. See the top five businesses recognized in each category below:
The “10 for Change” program started in 2008 between the city and two local businesses, and has since attracted more than 60 local companies. Program member participants receive energy use tracking assistance, bimonthly networking events, access to energy experts and rebates for energy efficiency project implementation. --CITY-- |
