Seven beautifully maintained lighted ballfields at Stazio were constructed in 1990. The facility has been the site for a Men's A National Fastpitch Championship and the annual Louisville Slugger Independence Day Girls Fastpitch Softball Tournament, including an exhibition game between the US National Softball Team and the Chinese Taipei National Softball Team. More than 10,000 people play softball in Boulder each year. Amenities include restrooms, a playground and picnic tables under a distinctive tensile structure. A picturesque view of the Flatirons in the distance provides the perfect all-around Boulder experience. Stazio Drive is the start and finish for the Stazio Criterium Bike Races in March. Dogs and glass containers are not allowed. East Mapleton Ball Fields Mapleton Ballfields were previously known as the Pow Wow Grounds in the 1960s. There are three lighted softball fields, a newly renovated playground, restrooms, picnic tables and nine horseshoe pits on site. East Mapleton is where many Boulder softball and kickball leagues play and is one of the league and tournament sites for girls fastpitch softball. Although this facility is located adjacent to the YMCA, it is not part of the "Y"; it is owned, maintained and operated by the Boulder Parks and Recreation Department. Voted College Field of the Year by the Sports Turf Managers Association of America, Pleasant View Fields hosted the University of Colorado Women's Soccer matches for years before building their own soccer field. The panoramic view of the Flatirons is an additional benefit to the nine sand based soccer/rugby Pleasant View Fields have been a location for national Irish Football, Ultimate Frisbee and Rugby Tournaments and the annual Rocky Mountain Cup Showcase Youth Soccer Tournament. The fields are abundant with youth and adult soccer leagues, camps and tournaments during the spring, summer and fall. Amenities include restrooms and picnic tables.
