Section No. 7-6-21: Parking in Passenger Loading Area, Alley Loading Zone, Other Loading Zone
No vehicle shall be parked in a loading zone for any purpose or period of time except:
(a) In a passenger loading zone, for the visible loading and unloading of passengers, for a period not to exceed three minutes, or as otherwise posted
(b) In any other loading zone, for the visible unloading and loading of property, for a period not to exceed 30 minutes, or such shorter time as indicated by a traffic control sign, or unloading of passengers, for a period not to exceed three minutes.
All alleys in commercial districts are loading zones. On all other streets, traffic control signs indicate loading zones.
If you received a ticket for this violation, you were either parked in the loading zone longer than permitted, or you were not visibly loading or unloading passengers or property.
The first picture shows a car parked in a loading zone. There is no visible indication that passengers or property are being loaded or unloaded.
The second is an example of a loading zone sign (on the right).
