Section No. 7-6-13(a)(11): Parking where Stopping/Standing is Prohibited
Around Boulder, there are many signs that prohibit stopping or standing in a designated area, which means that a vehicle cannot occupy the area for any reason.
These signs are typically found in places where a high safety hazard is created when parked vehicles are present. They are usually placed in areas where it is already illegal to stop or park for other reasons. This may include areas such as crosswalks, intersections, and near driveways or alleys.

Below, the red motorcycle on the left is in violation because the sign prohibits parking in the area to the left of the sign and the white line on the pavement.
Below, the car was ticketed because the rear two-thirds of the car extends into the area where the sign prohibits parking or standing.

You may also have received this ticket if you were stopped in a prohibited location even if you did not park your car and leave it. Stop means any halting, even momentarily, of a vehicle.
