Section No. 7-6-8: Parking on the Wrong Side of the Street
If you received this ticket, your parked vehicle was facing the wrong direction of travel. (See examples in photos, below.) This is a safety issue. Vehicles parked in violation of 7-6-8 must illegally drive against the flow of traffic to arrive and leave their parking spots.
This violates section 7-4-32, Driving on Right Side of Roadway Required, which is a 4 point traffic infraction.

A vehicle must be parked in the same direction as the flow of traffic. On a two-way street, vehicles must be parked on the right-hand side of the street facing the direction of travel. On a one-way street, vehicles must be parked facing the direction of travel. Alleys are also considered streets or roadways.
