The City of Boulder collects a Trash Tax to fund programs that encourage and incentivize businesses to increase waste reduction and diversion. Whether you want to start a recycling program or move closer towards zero waste, we have resources to assist you.

Financial Assistance
The City of Boulder provides several financial incentives to help your business implement a waste diversion program.
- NEW! Business Zero Waste Start-Up Rebate - Add new commercial recycling and/or compost collection and the city will rebate up to $250 towards the purchase of interior bins, compostable bags, compostable service ware, and more! Fill out the Start-Up Rebate Form to take advantage of this program.
- Business Recycling Coupon - To help your business get started with recycling, the city will provide a coupon for FREE collection during the first three months of recycling service. Contact Jamie Harkins at 303-441-1846 or

- Commercial Compost Incentive - Receive an incentive of $2.50 per subscribed cubic yard of compost collection. Contact your trash hauler to find out more about this program.
