Dog Licensing
The city's Dog License Program helps keep the community safe and healthy, and it helps reunite lost pets with their guardians. A dog license is required for all dogs over the age of four months, living within the city limits of Boulder. You must get a license within 30 days of acquisition of the dog, or within 30 days of moving to the city. All dogs are required to wear their city license tag on their collar or harness at all times. To get a city dog license, your dog must be currently inoculated with a rabies vaccination. The first vaccination is required at the age of four months and needs to be updated every one or three years, depending on the type of vaccination given. Keeping your animals current on their vaccinations prevents the contraction and the spread of various diseases.
