To assist owners and property managers on the path to SmartRegs compliance, the first three years of implementation (2011-2013) are marked by significant federal, state and local funding to ease the cost to property owners.

After distributing a total of $160,420 in rebate dollars, the City of Boulder announced that all 2012 rebate funds for SmartRegs upgrade assistance have been depleted. The rebates provide monetary assistance to rental property owners in Boulder who are making upgrades to comply with the SmartRegs energy efficiency requirements. ES_logo-tagvertThe EnergySmart Service, developed by the City of Boulder and Boulder County, provides a SmartRegs Compliance Pathway for owners and property managers.  Designed to eliminate hassle, EnergySmart will provide:

  • owners and property managers with a comprehensive, one-stop-shop for energy efficiency solutions;
  • dedicated Energy Advisors to assist with determining where individual properties stand in relation to SmartRegs compliance, and recommend the best method of compliance for each individual rental property; and
  • direct installation of energy efficiency measures, helping to schedule contractors for any efficiency improvements that need to be made, and identifying rebates and incentives that are available for the work.
