Boulder's Energy Future - Project Team and Contributors

As it works to create the Electric Utility of the Future, the City of Boulder has involved local stakeholders, received suggestions from subject-matter experts and heard from paid and unpaid consultants, outside legal counsel, non-governmental organizations and a wide range of interested parties. The city is grateful for the opportunity to work with a diverse and deep team of professionals and volunteers.

Duncan & Allen selected as Federal Energy Regulatory Commission attorneys
- Visit Duncan & Allen's website
- Read an informational handout provided by the firm
Duncan, Ostrander & Dingess selected as law firm that will aid the city in potential condemnation proceedings with Xcel Energy

Financial advisors, engineers selected to assist with municipalization research
- Public Financial Management, Inc. (PFM) -will advise the city on financial matters related to municipalization, including cost modeling, rate projection and bonding scenarios
- Exponential Engineering Compan and Schneider Electric will work together to advise the city about optimal ways to separate Xcel Energy's distribution system from the assets a city utility would need, as well as the engineering and technical steps the city would want to take to operate the "utility of the future."
