Open house scheduled to gather input on transportation connections and flood mitigation near Crest View Elementary

The public is invited to an open house hosted by the City of Boulder Utilities Division from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Crest View Elementary School, 1897 Sumac Ave, to provide input on:

  • Pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular access in the area between 22nd Street and Crest View Elementary School and Upland and Riverside avenues; and,
  • Flood mitigation improvements at 19th Street and Fourmile Canyon Creek.

Public input received at a May 2011 open house helped develop several alternatives for consideration. City staff will present updated information on the alternatives, concept-level costs and potential impacts and benefits of the options. The purpose of this open house is to help identify preferred alternatives for connections and floodplain improvements.

The open house is part of the Community and Environmental Assessment Process (CEAP), which is used to evaluate the social and environmental impacts of the proposed transportation connections and flood mitigation improvements in the area.  After input from this meeting is considered and analyzed, a final city staff recommendation will be presented to the Greenways Advisory Committee in early 2012.
