Police looking to reunite bicycles with rightful owners

 Several bicycles were found in the bed of a truck belonging to two men who were arrested on Felony Theft charges on Oct. 21, 2011. The bikes have not been reported as stolen, and police are trying to match them up with their owners.  (See photos).

Steven Dawe (DOB 7/13/1968) and Ramon Quintana (DOB 6/5/1982) were arrested during a traffic stop. A witness told officers he had allegedly seen the two men attempting to cut the lock off of a bike with bolt cutters in the 1000 block of 13^th Street. The suspects left in the truck, which officers located a short time later.

During the stop, police noticed several bicycles with locks still partially attached in the bed of the truck, and the Boulder Police Department would like to return them to their rightful owners.

1.    “Giant” brand, “Boulder” model, red mountain bike with front suspension

2.    “Trek” brand, “3700” model, charcoal-colored women’s mountain bike with front suspension

3.    Unknown brand or model, black mountain bike with front suspension

One additional bicycle was recovered and positively linked to a reported theft from the RTD bus station at 14^th and Walnut, and it’s possible that other bikes may have been taken from the same area.
