Transportation/Maintenance

Transportation Maintenance will spot apply glyphosate, an EPA Category III herbicide, to various broadleaf and grassy weeds at the following locations:

  • 28th Street Frontage Road from Baseline to Arapahoe Avenue
  • 28th Street Center Medians from Baseline to Arapahoe Avenue
  • 28th Street Right of way strip, West side of road from Colorado Avenue to Taft Drive
  • Table Mesa Center Medians from Foothills Parkway/Hwy 157 to Moorhead Avenue

Open Space & Mountain Parks

Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) staff will apply Transline, an EPA Category III herbicide to .02 acre of perennial sweetpea in the Chautauqua area, south of Baseline and west of Chautauqua Park.

An OSMP lessee will broadcast apply Warrior I, an EPA Category II insecticide, to alfalfa weevil in alfalfa hay on the Anderson property, located east of 75th Street and south of Arapahoe Road.

An OSMP lessee will hire American Pride Co-op to broadcast apply Warrior I, an EPA Category II insecticide, to Russian wheat aphid, and Widematch, an EPA Category III herbicide, to annual weeds on Coors quality barley on the  Bixler property, located west of 95th Street and north of Arapahoe Road.

An OSMP lessee will hire American Pride Co-op to broadcast apply Warrior I, an EPA Category II insecticide, to Russian wheat aphid, and Widematch, an EPA Category III herbicide, to annual weeds on Coors quality barley on the  Autrey property, located east of 75th Street and south of Arapahoe Road.

Parks & Recreation Parks Operations

Parks & Recreation Parks Operations will spot apply Nature's Avenger, a natural herbicide, to various weeds in the landscaped areas of Central Park and the landscaped beds of the municipal building and the main library.

Parks & Recreation Parks Operations will spot apply Fiesta, a natural iron-based herbicide, to control broadleaf plantain, dandelions and clover to test plots on the the turf at the west lawn of the Municipal Buildling, located at 1777 Broadway and at Foothills Community Park, located at 800 Cherry Avenue.

Parks & Recreation Parks Operations will apply fertilizer to the turf at the following park sites:

  • Palo East Park, located at Corriente Pl & Campo Ct.
  • Palo North Park, located at 30th & Redwood
  • Palo Central/South Park, located at Palo Parkway & Paseo Del Prado
  • Columbine Park, located at 23rd & Glenwood
  • Aurora 7 Park, located at 38th & Aurora
