15th annual Circle Boulder by Bicycle community rides scheduled for Sunday, June 3

The City of Boulder’s Greenways Program will host the 15th annual Circle Boulder by Bicycle community rides on Sunday, June 3, starting between 3 and 4 p.m. from Scott Carpenter Park at 30th Street and Arapahoe Avenue. The leisurely B-360 and B-180 self-guided rides will explore the city’s extensive bike system and then return to Scott Carpenter Park for a free, post-ride party, beginning at 5 p.m.

The non-competitive Circle Boulder by Bicycle community rides are open to all ages and abilities and will take place rain or shine. On Sunday, June 3, riders can register for free at Scott Carpenter Park and then begin riding the approximately 23-mile B-360 loop between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Those who want to ride the shorter, 14-mile B-180 route can begin riding between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Those who would like extra time for either ride can register and begin riding at 2:30 p.m.

Participants will tour Boulder using the bike system of connected paths, neighborhood streets and unpaved trails. Riders will be asked to remain on the designated routes and yield to other users. Cyclists should carry water and wear appropriate gear, including a helmet. Dogs are not allowed at the event.

The Greenways Program provides recreation and transportation opportunities along Boulder Creek and its 14 major tributaries. The program helps preserve the community’s natural and cultural resources by coordinating environmental protection, wetland habitat restoration, water quality enhancements, flood mitigation, and storm drainage improvements along the city’s Greenways corridors.
