Businesses can make a big impact. Most of Boulder's greenhouse gas emissions, 76.3%, come from energy use in buildings, including electricity and natural gas. In fact, 59.6% of Boulder's greenhouse gas emissions are solely due to electricity use in buildings. Reduce Use offers Boulder residents and businesses numerous programs and services - such as EnergySmart and Smart Regs - to reduce energy waste from buildings.

Be penny wise with EnergySmart:
Business owners can receive a FREE EnergySmart Assessment to identify energy saving opportunities specific to their building and sector. Your EnergySmart Advisor will help you prioritize opportunities, find contractors and identify rebates. Visit EnergySmart or call 303-544-1000.

Join the 10 for Change community!
10 for Change engages businesses in a friendly challenge to save money by integrating sustainability practices in their operations. Efforts to save energy and water, and reduce waste all contribute to Boulder's community sustainability goals.

Take advantage of energy efficiency rebates:
Businesses have access to diverse rebates for energy-efficiency measures through EnergySmart and Xcel Energy. For businesses that participate in EnergySmart services, your Advisor will help you find and apply for rebates. Recharge Colorado can also help your business save energy and money. 

Commercial Benchmarking Program Development
The city is launching a pilot program to help inform development of a standard procedure for rating the energy performance of existing commercial buildings in the community. The pilot will allow building owners, tenants and the city better understand how existing commercial buildings use energy and identify areas where energy efficiency upgrades could help specific businesses or property owners save money.
