• Promote use of renewable energy sources for individual buildings and sites.
• Increase renewable sources in our regional energy supply.

Ramp Up Renewables aims to change our energy supply. Almost 90% of our energy supply comes from fossil fuels - just over 57% of Boulder's electricity is currently sourced from coal and another 32% comes from natural gas. Reducing carbon emissions requires shifting this energy generation from fossil fuels towards lower carbon fuels and renewable resources. This includes increasing rooftop solar (check out Solar Rebates), on-site wind generation and geothermal heating to diversify the sources of our power. The more energy we renew, the brighter our future!
