July 27, 2012 - Boulder Reservoir swim beach remains closed due to elevated bacteria levelsMedia Contacts: Boulder Reservoir swim beach remains closed due to elevated bacteria levels The Boulder Reservoir swim beach, 5565 N. 51st St., will remain closed at least through 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, due to elevated levels of bacteria. Swimming was temporarily suspended at 4 p.m. yesterday as a precaution when a routine water sampling test determined bacteria levels to be elevated. The increased levels are believed to be the result of rain runoff. Water at the swim area was re-sampled again this afternoon, and test results are expected by Saturday afternoon. The reservoir swim beach will re-open once bacteria levels are reduced. For more information and updates, call the Boulder Reservoir at 303-441-3461 or visit www.BoulderRez.org.
