Climate Action Plan Tax Information

Nov. 6, 2012 - Voters approve carbon tax to support continuing  climate action

The city has prepared a Community Guide to Climate Action in Boulder and four at-a-glance information sheets that address frequently asked questions about the Climate Action Plan (CAP) tax.

City Council asked voters in early November whether they were willing to renew the tax for five years. The tax, which currently raises $1.8 million a year for energy efficiency and conservation incentives and programs, was otherwise scheduled to expire at the end of March 2013.
