Urban Forestry Division

Urban Forestry will place pheromone packets in all the Scotch and Austrian pine trees on Pearl Street Mall; the pheromones will be up from July through October, 2012. The packets contain a mountain pine beetle anti-aggregation pheromone to prevent attack by mountain pine beetles.

Transportation/Maintenance

Transportation Maintenance will hand apply Rodeo, an EPA Category III herbicide, to cut stumps at the 27th Way Pocket Park, located at the corner of 27th Street and Elm Avenue.

Open Space & Mountain Parks

Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) will apply Garlon 4, an EPA Category III herbicide, to cut stumps of bladder senna on the Wittemyer property, located north of Sunshine Canyon and west of Mount Sanitas Trail.

OSMP staff will spot apply Garlon 4 and Milestone, EPA Category III herbicides, to invasive shrub and forbs on Wednesday at Chautauqua, south of Baseline and west of 13th Street.

OSMP will cut-stump apply Garlon 4, an EPA Category III herbicide, to Russian olive on the Colorado Open Lands property, located south of Valmont Road and east of 55th Street.

OSMP staff will spot apply Rodeo, an EPA category III herbicide, to cattail on the following properties: 

  • Fancher, located east Marshall Road and north of Marshall Drive
  • Damyonovich, located south of Marshall Drive and west of 66th Street.

Parks & Recreation Parks Operations

Parks & Recreation Parks Operations will spot apply Nature's Avenger, a natural herbicide, to various weeds in the landscaped areas of Central Park and the landscaped beds of the municipal building and the main library.
