Qualifications:  Applicants must be able to meet three objectives of the department’s internal review process:

Ø  To maintain the integrity of the department by reviewing complaints of member misconduct.

Ø  To protect the community from member misconduct.

Ø  To protect department members from false or malicious allegations.

Applicants must be:

Ø  United States citizen.

Ø  Residents of the city of Boulder for the past three years.

Ø  21 years of age or older.

Ø  Qualified applicants who reflect Boulder’s diversity are encouraged to apply.

Ø  Qualified CU community members are encouraged to apply.

Applicants can have no felony convictions, and no misdemeanor convictions in the past five years.  Applicants must be willing to submit to a criminal history check.

Selection Process:  Applications will be reviewed to make sure the criteria are met.  Criminal history checks will be completed on all applicants.  Applicants who are chosen to move forward in the process will then be interviewed by a selection committee.  The names of those applicants who successfully complete the process will be forwarded to the City Manager’s Office for final selection.
