Rental Housing Licensing Forms

Get information on the Rental Housing Inspection & Licensing Program.

To RENEW an existing rental license that has not expired or changed ownership you will need the following:

• Instructions and Application
• Safety Inspection Checklist
• Sample disclosure letter / En Espanol (City ordinances require landlords to provide this information to tenants).
• A $46 licensing fee (found in the Schedule of Fees) made payable to the City of Boulder.

To license a rental property for the first time AND for new owners of new or existing rental properties (including transfer of ownership to a Limited Liability Corporation, or LLC), you will need the following:

• Instructions and Application
• Safety Inspection Checklist
• Sample disclosure letter / En Espanol (City ordinances require landlords to provide this information to tenants).
• A $46 licensing fee (found in the Schedule of Fees) made payable to the City of Boulder
  
  And ONE of the following forms depending on the number of units in the building:

• Baseline Inspection for Single Dwelling Units and Duplexes
  (Single dwelling units may be single-family homes, town homes, or condominiums)
  OR
• Baseline Inspection for Apartment Buildings with 3 or more Units
