Boulder Transit Village

The City of Boulder purchased an 11.2 acre property a few years ago that will be the future site for an integrated, mixed-use development that combines current and future transit service (including future commuter rail) with housing (including a substantial amount of affordable housing), and some limited personal service retail. The western half of the is being leased back to the previous owner, Pollard Motors, for up to twelve years; the majority of the residential development will occur on that portion of the site.

Status: A public process has been initiated to plan for the area and the site, with development of the eastern half of the site anticipated to begin in 2009. About 3 acres will be used for transit, and 2.5 acres for housing. No speciic information is available yet on number or type of residential units. These are not likely to be available until late 2010 at the earliest.
