ClimateSmart on the Road

Vehicle exhaust accounts for approximately a quarter of Boulder's greenhouse gas emissions.
There are basically two ways to reduce vehicle emissions: drive fewer miles or drive the vehicles on the road more efficiently.  The city has been working for years to reduce the number of miles driven by making alternative transportation options more attractive to residents.  GO Boulder has done an excellent job at that.

The city has also begun to focus on reducing vehicle emissions.  Education is a huge component because the options can be complex.  These webpages will give you the information so you can make your own informed decisions on how to reduce your vehicle emissions. ethanoltagonpump.jpg

There are a number of vehicle choices you can make when making a purchase.  There are also driving habits you can practice to reduce emissions from the car you have now.

We are working actively with gas stations to make renewable fuels more available.

We have also included information on how taking the bus, walking or biking can reduce your greenhouse gas emissions.
